Bore Gwener, yr 9fed o Chwefror, daeth y newyddion hynod drist, fod Bry Robs wedi ein gadael ni.
Hunodd yn dawel yn ei gartref ar stad Llain Deg, Y Bala. I bawb oedd yn adnabod Bry, roedd pawb yn ymwybodol ei fodyn dipyn o ‘sportsman’, ond pêl droed oedd ei ddileit mwyaf. Yn ystod ei gyfnod yn yr ysgol, daliodd record Ysgol y Berwyn am ras y gan llath (100 yards) am flynyddoedd lawer-roedd yn dipyn o wibiwr. Bu yn rhan o dîm ieuenctid Y Bala, a enillodd Gwpan Canolbarth Cymru yn 1961. Bu yn aelod o dîm y dref, a enillodd yr ail haen o'r ‘Wrexham Area’ yn nhymor 1967/68.
I ddiolch am ei waith gwirfoddol nath Bry ennill “Clubman of the Year” ambelldro. Cafodd lwyddiant mawr yn Ebrill 1972, pan lwyddodd i reoli tîm ieuenctid yn y Bala a fydd yn aros mewn hanes, gan y buddynt gyrraedd rownd derfynol y ‘Welsh FA Youth Cup’ yn Aberystwyth, gan golli o drwch blewyn i Ystrad Rhondda. Roedd yn gefnogwr brwd o Lerpwl, ond roedd clwb pel-droed Tref y Bala yn agos iawn at ei galon. Safai Bry yn aml iawn o dan y coed, lle rydym ni yn ei adnabod fel yr ‘Ivan Bach End’ o'r cae. Byddai yn hoff iawn o ymweld a'r Traeth ym Mhorthmadog, ac yn aml byddai yn troi i mewn i'r Oval wrth ymweld â Judith ei ferch yng Nghaernarfon.
Roedd yn ffigwr amlwg yn nhref y Bala, gan iddo gerdded llawer o lwybrau o amgylch y dref, yn aml iawn â ffôn mewn un llaw ac afal yn y llall. Hoffai yn fawr yr ochr gymdeithasol o hyn. Bu’n aelod o bwyllgor y clwb am nifer o flynyddoedd, a buynddygyndros ben yn y gwelliannau syddi'w gweld heddiw ar Faes Tegid.
Yr ydym yn meddwl am y teulu yn eu colled. Estynwn ein cydymdeimlad dwysaf atochi gyd.
Cwsg yndawel Bry.
Bydd munud o dawelwch ym Maes Tegid ddydd Sadwrn 17eg Chwefror am 12.40 i gofio am ein ffrind Bry Robs.
On Friday morning, the 9th of February, came the extremely sad news, that Bry Robs had left us.
He passed away quietly at his home in Bala. For everyone who knew Bry, everyone was aware that he was a bit of a sportsman, but football was his biggest passion. During his time at the school, he held the Ysgol Y Berwyn school record for a hundred yards 100 yard race for many years—he was something of a whippet. He was part of the Bala youth team, which won the Mid Wales Cup in 1961. He was a member of the Bala Town team, which won the second tier Wrexham Area in the 1967/68 season.
To thank for all his voluntary work Bry won the "Clubman of the Year" award several times.
He enjoyed great success in April 1972, when he managed a youth team in Bala which will remain in history, as they reached the Welsh FA Youth Cup final in Aberystwyth, narrowly losing to Ystrad Rhondda. He was a keen Liverpool fan, but Bala Town FC was very close to his heart. Bry often stood under the trees, where we know as the 'Ivan Bach End' of the field. He would also love to visit ‘Y Traeth’ in Porthmadog, and would often turn into the Oval when visiting his daughter Judith in Caernarfon.
He was a prominent figure in the town of Bala, as he walked many paths around the town, often with a mobile in one hand and an stick in the other. He would very much like the social side of this. He was a member of the club's committee for a number of years, and worked extremely hardon the improvements to be seen around Maes Tegid today.
We are all thinking of the whole family during this sad time. We extend our deepest condolences to you all.
Rest in peace Bri.
There will be a minutes silence held at Maes Tegid on Saturday 17th February at 12.40 to remember our friend Bry Robs.
