The Lakesiders get the 2024/25 domestic season underway this evening with a short trip, as we take on Ruthin Town in the Second Round of the Nathaniel MG Cup in an identical fixture to last season's Nathaniel MG Cup Second Round.
The Town concluded their pre-season last weekend with a 1-1 draw against Bootle FC with Naim Arsan getting on the scoresheet. It was an agonising exit against Paide Linnameeskond the week prior, as a 120th minute goal knocked the Lakesiders out of Europe with just seconds to go until a penalty shootout commenced.
The hosts this evening have already begun their league season in the JD Cymru North, as Flint Town put 7 past them on the opening day. However, it would be victory against Bangor 1876 that would secure this Second Round clash for Ruthin just a week before their league opener.
