The Lakesiders return to league action this evening, as we head to the league leaders, following our Nathaniel MG Cup triumph against Connah's Quay Nomads last Saturday. The Town have played three league matches so far this year, winning one, drawing one and losing one, having played Pontypridd United twice and Connah's Quay once.
Meanwhile, the hosts this evening are yet to face defeat in the Cymru Premier so far this season, with 18 wins and 3 draws, and only conceding eight goals in the process. The Saints haven't dropped points since the 23rd of December, having drawn 1-1 to Connah's Quay Nomads. Their last outing saw them dump Newtown out of the JD Welsh Cup with a 7-0 victory at Park Hall, as the Saints booked their place in the Quarter Finals.

Danger Man
Declan McManus - The Scotsman is without doubt the biggest threat for the New Saints, with 19 goals in 16 appearances in the Cymru Premier so far this season. Despite being ruled out for the whole of December, McManus still sits on top of the goal scoring charts in the Cymru Premier, with only Aaron Williams of Newtown being the closest challenger with 13 goals. The 28 year old has been firing on all cylinders this January, having netted eight goals in four appearances in all competitions, including four goals in a 8-1 victory over Flint Town in the Cymru Premier. The Lakesiders defence will have to be at their best to keep out McManus this evening!
Previous Meetings
The Lakesiders have struggled to pick up points against the New Saints, with only three points won in our last nine meetings, with all three points coming from three draws. The last time the Lakesiders were victorious against tonight's opponent was back in August of 2019, as goals from Chris Venables and Louis Robles earned the Town a 3-1 victory at Maes Tegid. The most recent meeting between the two sides ended in an afternoon to forget for the Lakesiders, as the New Saints hit five past the Town in a 5-0 victory in October last year.
