Reserves Grab A Point In 3-3 Draw

Our Reserves kicked off their League campaign with a thrilling match against Denbigh Town Reserves on Friday evening.

A new season, and a new league was in store for our Reserves on Friday evening, as they kicked started their FAW Reserve League North West campaign.

Denbigh Town Reserves were the visitors to Maes Tegid for the first game of the season, and what a cracker it was!

The match saw three goals apiece, eight yellow cards and one red card!

Llion Thomas opened the scoring on 22 minutes, which saw them go into the break a goal up. Then minutes after the restart, Will Hughes doubled their advantage to make it 2-0.

Sam Jones converted a penalty in the 63rd minute for the visitors which halfed the deficit, until Sam Tate levelled the score on 85 minutes.

It seemed like heartbreak in the final minute of the 90, as Sam Jones' deflected effort went past Dom Walker in goal to give the visitors the lead.

Denbigh; who had seemed to have fought back to take all three points, were hit with a hammerblow of themselves as Llion Thomas scored his 2nd goal in the 4th minute of added on time!

Dan Lindsay was then sent off for violent conduct just seconds after the goal.

The match was brought to a close, with the teams having a share of the points in what was an entertaining match up.

Our Reserves' next fixture will see Holywell Town Reserves visit Maes Tegid on Friday 6th of August, with kick off at 7:30pm.
